CarersConnect has now transferred to a new provider and is undergoing some exciting changes. The website and forum have been rebranded and we hope you like the new look.
The task of spreading the word about CarersConnect to those who work in the care sectors and the six million carers in the UK begins now. We would appreciate your help with this!
CarersConnect opened after ten stressful weeks and the tireless efforts of Kevin the website developer working with me.
Gradually membership started to rise, we actually attracted nineteen new members on one day in May! It is interesting to note from profile information how many employed in the care sectors are also carers at home, I had gathered this on chatting to staff while attending many outpatient clinics.
Following a steep learning curve throughout 2007, my idea of creating an online meeting place for carers and care professionals, with the emphasis on leisure time, resurfaced after the Christmas break!
My desire for a diversion from a draining care situation, the need to re-establish my own space and the chance to socialise with those in similar positions who understand continues to drive me on!
