Carers Connect Terms of Service

Our Terms of Service We have no small print: we believe in openness, honesty and plain, easy-to-understand language.

It is important that you should read this page. The aim of this site is to provide adults who are now or who have been carers, and adults in the care sectors and related professions, with a place to come, relax and socialise with like-minded individuals who understand their situations. Therefore no-one under the age of eighteen may use this site in any way.

We will do our best at all times to provide this service in an entirely fair manner. Any changes to our Terms of Service will appear in this section, therefore you should check back here regularly for any updates. If you should have suggestions for policy changes please do not hesitate to contact us at admin@carersconnect.com

If you feel that we have got something wrong - or if something concerns you - about our site please let us know. Equally, if you feel that we have got something right, we would welcome those comments too! By receiving regular feedback we can respond to your suggestions and the site will develop into a place where we can all unwind and feel comfortable.

At the bottom of each page is a 'Contact Us' form for your use. We will endeavour to acknowledge or respond to your e-mail by the following working day.

We assume that most people in our arena are sensible and will use this site in the way it is intended. Therefore we expect that you - as either a guest or member - will behave in an appropriate and non-threatening manner to other users of this site. If you are a member, and you do not wish to either see the posts nor to have your postings seen by a particular member, you can change your settings to block them. Please contact us if you require assistance with this.

Sadly, we have to accept that there may be a few individuals who would possibly wish to abuse this site and we will not accept this. We would prefer to spend our valuable time responding to genuine members and developing this site to accommodate their needs and preferences, rather than applying, enforcing and monitoring sanctions against abusers.

If we feel that your conduct is inappropriate, we reserve the right to apply sanctions against you.

These will range from a warning, temporary suspension of site privileges through to termination of your site membership. The Moderator's opinion will determine the level of action taken. Should you feel unjustly treated you are entitled to contact us by e-mail and the Administrator and/or Site Owner will consider it. There will be no further appeal after this final decision.

Please note: Any donations or fees paid by you will not be refunded in whole or in part if your membership is terminated by us.

We reserve the right to amend or delete any posts or submissions by guests and/or members to this site and all submissions become our property.

In any cases of dispute between you and us, our decision is final, except in the case of legal matters where we will enter into independent arbitration based in England.

Social Networking Forum Agreement

The software enabling our Social Networking Forum is owned by an independent third-party who stipulate how their software may be used. In order that we may continue to use that software for the benefit of our users we will comply with that agreement fully at all times.

Their terms of use apply to both you and us at CarersConnect. For your convenience we have reprinted that agreement here.

"You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any United Kingdom or International law. You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also forbidden on this forum.

Note that it is impossible for the staff or the owners of this forum to confirm the validity of posts. Please remember that we cannot guarantee to actively monitor the posted messages, although we will endeavour to do this at least once per day and as such, we are not responsible for the content contained within. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented. The posted messages express the views of the author, and not necessarily the views of this forum, its staff, its subsidiaries, or this forum's owner. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator or moderator of this forum immediately. The staff and the owner of this forum reserve the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if they determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realise that they may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy applies to member profile information as well.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners of this forum, any related websites to this forum, its staff, and its subsidiaries. The owners of this forum also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information collected on this service) in the event of a formal complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by your use of this forum.

You have the ability, as you register, to choose your user-name. We advise that you keep the name appropriate. With the user account you are about to register, you agree to never give your password out to another person except an administrator, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another person's account for any reason. We also HIGHLY recommend you use a complex and unique password for your account, to prevent account theft.

After you register and log-in to this forum, you will be able to fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Any information the forum owner or staff determines to be inaccurate or vulgar in nature will be removed, with or without prior notice. Appropriate sanctions may be applicable.

Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major breach of this agreement.

Also note that the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your user-name and password), in your browser's cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does not collect or send any other form of information to your computer."
